Designing a course for engagement and effective results

Do all of your programs target the known business issues in a way that engages the individual delegates?

In the competitive world of training and development we always have a balancing act. All of the messages should ring true to the delegates and mean something to the business, nothing should look 'out of place' and proven concepts need not be reinvented.

My approach to design works equally well from a blank page or an existing course:

  1. identify what changes would benefit the business
  2. decide how people could influence that change
  3. involve them in a relevant and compelling journey from where they are to where they need to be

Naturally thorough follow-up embeds the above steps.

Involvement and relevance lead to changes and results, and this approach is different to considering what should be known and delivering information.
